maturity. It is a maturity that neither Kelly or Beamer will ever show and an example for the young men of ND that we should be proud of in our coach, whatever his current shortcomings are given he is still early on the HC learning curve.
#9. Buchner has what it takes to be a really good FBS QB. The tools and the talent but also the psychological aspect of it. Tommy Rees didn't need to yell at him to "suck it the fuck up" and he had a lot of opportunities to fold. He kept going and made the plays to help the team win in the end. 350+ yards of offense and 5 total touchdowns. I'm glad he was the player of the game and got the victory formation kneel down.
#12. They were crashing the middle. Zone read with a guy like Buchner taking it to the outside would make that inside run unstoppable with our backs and line. I don't think they felt comfortable doing a lot of that given that Buchner was coming back from injury.
I think the change came when Rees started calling more quick pass plays to the RBs on the perimeter. Diggs TD and Tyree as well. That helped prevent them from being able to crash the middle and opened up the running game and helped improve the pass protection.
