But in reality, what happens in ND's search for an OC? If Saban could only come up with Rees, does that tell
us that the pickings are slim and none?
This was an awful year when looking at the Stanford and Marshall losses and seeing what could have been with OSU
and USC. Pyne was not the answer and isn't the starter many here thought. Buchner wasn't really given an offense
to use (meaning the OSU game and Marshall game plans looked entirely tethered to an idea instead of going after
it with all the talent available). USC, in MHO had Buchner been available and playing, ND could have come out of
that one with a win. Stanford - a horrible game plan - a horrible loss. That one was on all the coaching staff.
ND has talented football players. I agree with Goolsby, Buchner is a solid QB and should be a good one if given
a real opportunity. I'm not on the Hartman bandwagon. Bringing in a gunslinger who really isn't one, is just
keeping the QB position limbo another year. No one will improve therefore just kicking the can down the road
instead of coaching up QB's and making a go of it.
