The same holds true for Ivy League football players, players who are 3 years removed from high school but never played college football, etc. It's no secret that HBCU players are going to be, as a whole, inferior to what you'd see at the FBS level.
Show me an amazing HBCU player who has all of the NFL measurables, and I'm pretty sure he'll get a fair shake in the pros. The scouts generally know what they're looking for, and if he's any good, they'll giv ehim a shot.
This reminds me of the year that a lot of the usual politically correct complainers were screaming bloody murder over no African-American actors getting an award for one of those movie award ceremonies. In my opinion, there was one guy who should have gotten some (Michael B. Jordan for his role in "Creed"), but for the most part, there simply weren't any outstanding performances by Black actors that year.
