Once upon a time ND was highly dependent on recruiting from Catholic high schools.
This did not help with African Americans, who are often devout Christians, but from other denominations.
But in today's very secular world... where else can devout Christians walk across a campus with a 13 story mural of Jesus beaming down at them
benevolently?
Correct me if I'm wrong... but it seems to me that both coach Freeman and coach Ivy are very religous human beings and are proud of it.
I'm fallen away from organized religion but still very much Christian... and I'm loving my alma mater more and more for its continued emphasis on spirituality.
Our athletic sucesses are just frosting on the cake.
