Under Alexander and Stuckey, we brought in plenty of 4 star talent, but all too many of them either didn't develop to their potential (Styles, Colzie), or flat-out left last year (James, Flores, Merriweather).
There were some flashes of potential (Styles in 2021), but the sub-optimal QB situation in 2022 didn't give them a chance to develop on the field. Seeing Lorenzo Styles put on a very fine performance in the Fiesta Bowl gave me hope that we'd have a true WR1 ready to seize command of the field, but that never materialized.
Seeing Rico Flores put on a pretty good season as a true freshman brought some measure of hope, but that got dashed after all of those receivers left when Stuckey left.
This year will be a telling one with regards to how the WR talent we have has been developed, since they will have had a full off-season under Mike Brown.
If Jayden Thomas and Jaden Greathouse blossom, then the WR talent out there is going to take notice.
