Or at the very least he promised himself Leonard would be the starter, and now he's conflicted between breaking a promise to Leonard/himself or what's good for the team.
He might believe benching Leonard is a betrayal of sorts and he also might not be "cold-hearted" enough to do it. I wonder what Denbrock and Guidugli really think about the QB situation.
Finally, we all know there will a next time where the Leonard offense gets bogged down to the point the game is in danger. Whether Freeman has the guts to pull the trigger in that situation will be very telling whether he has what it takes or not. I'm not quite ready to throw the towel in on him just yet. Let's see how he handles the next offense-is-going-nowhere situation.
