There have been other schools trying to flip him, and he has stayed committed to Stanford, despite better football schools (than Stanford) knocking on the door.
He knows that he'll have a good chance at becoming the starter as a true freshman, since Ashton Daniels isn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard as a passer. His numbers, as bad as they are right now, aren't even a true indicator of how poor of a passer he is, since his excellent game against Cal-Poly (FCS) skews his stats a good bit.
Besides, if Daniels keeps running like that (already rushed 50 times this year), he's going to end up on the injured list now that they've started the meat and potatoes part of their ACC schedule. .
