I would have been happy to have him here last year, and if we didn't hire Denbrock, would have been happy to have him here this year.
Utah's QB depth is terrible right now. Their normal starter, Cameron Rising, is a 7th year senior, had a really good year in 2023, and was easily the best man for the job until he got hurt in the 3rd game.
While Isaac Wilson has talent, he's a true freshman who really needed a year or two to develop. Behind him is a 3 star guy who never panned out, and Sam Huard, who has had 5 years to prove that he was the 3rd highest rated QB prospect in 2020. I really don't think Huard is going to be anywhere nearly as good as his hype, especially since he had originally transferred from Washington to Cal-Poly.
If Wilson is starting over those two guys, then it shows how bad the QB situation really is.
