My brother in law was a cop that helped tear down the goal post in 1968 in Green Bay after the Ice
Bowl. so it goes back at least that far. (He was not on duty and he was a police sergeant in a neighboring community.). He still had a piece of it in his basement when he died a few years ago. A nephew now has it. It will likely be passsed down for generations in my wife’s family.
I had a daughter at Purdue a few years ago and I was at their victory over tOSU for Father’s weekend for her sorority, and went down on the field afterwards with her.
Rushing the court at the ACC after ND beat UCLA was also fine with me.
