It looked like Tommy Rees were calling the plays

It's head-scratching to see why today's OC's refuse to follow common logic when it comes to plays that are much more likely to get the job done.

No QB sneaking under center allowed when you just need 1 yard with a decent sized QB. No hitting the line with a quick RB dive up the middle from under center.

Instead, call a slowly developing run play from the shotgun (and lose 7 yards), which was the real back-breaker.

There were any number of things they could have done, such as trying a couple of QB sneaks, or even a quick play action pass to the tight end, anything but a slowly developing running play against a strong, aggressive defense.
