They played a nearly perfect game, and were in excellent rhythm. When a talented o-line plays like that, it's going to be difficult for any defense to stop them.
We didn't have the offense to keep up with theirs.
It was a lot like the 1993 Cotton Bowl, where Texas A&M had one of the best defenses in the nation, with a lot of early NFL draft picks on that squad. They actually held their own for the bulk of the 1st half, but got worn down by what could be arguably said was the best offensive lines in the nation (ours). Once we got our rhythm going, it became a textbook clinic on how to run the ball down someone's throats, no matter how good they may be.
Texas A&M was in a similar boat, where as good as their offense was, they couldn't keep up with ours.
Bob Davie actually called a good game for the Aggies, but because the offensive line was so dominating, it didn't matter.
