I was wondering what happened to him in that 1991 draft, seeing how he was an All-American for two consecutive years, being the strong safety who could do it all, and very well.

Yeah, it's a sad story to see that kind of amazing ability get crippled with an unfortunate, freak injury. Looking at the video footage, it's as if he basically landed in the most unlucky position, since he wasn't even hit when his leg buckled.
