He is his father's son, after all

The way he played as a true freshman, after just having a spring semester of training camp as an early enrollee, and fall camp was pretty darn impressive. I didn't see any dropoff in performance when Bryce Young stepped in after we lost all of those defensive ends to injury.

Sure, there were a few rookie mistakes on containment, but he made very few of those mistakes at the end of the year. His use of leverage got better as well.

He also did all of that with just a short time of S&C under Coach Landow. To be frank, he looked a bit skinny out there last year, and that was after he packed on 20 pounds ever since the end of his senior year in high school.

With another full off-season of training and S&C (he's anywhere from 270 to 275 lbs), I'm quite sure he'll be showing a marked improvement over last year.

  • Athlon has 4 ND players as preseason All American. Any thoughts on Bryce Young achieving AA status - michiganirish - 12:38pm 7/2/25 (8) [View All]
