Actually, I don’t think its about courage because they don’t usually put the ball on the ground and fumbles are usually a sign of a lack of courage. I think its more of a mindset—be the hammer and not the nail. Having great technique is important, but you cannot let it overshadow the mindset. Frankly, it was a bit disappointing that the youngest back in the room—Aneyas Williams—was the most consistently effective and reliable pass protector.
Flashes of CJ indicate he has some mobility within the pocket, so let’s not give him or the o-line, and tight ends, any excuses. I believe our backs are tough but honestly pass pro is an area in which I would like to see improvement from Ja’Juan Seider and his crew. We shall see.
