He and Golden said it best after Golden's first year and the D was dead last in the country in red zone D. "We made it too complicated and players aren't playing fast, we need to dumb it down." It worked beautifully.
Here we are again. Whatever the problem is, scheme, calls, alignment issues, etc. the players are back to thinking too much and not playing fast.
