All quiet on the offensive skill position front.

The only offensive skill position player who logged any notable stats was Drew Pyne, and he was already hobbling from previous injuries. Getting hammered that many times Saturday didn't do him any favors.




Offensive MVP: Pat Coogan for his dominating blocking performance in under three quarters of play. Fernando Mendoza owes him several steak dinners.

Defensive MVP: Aiden Keanaaina for his monster game vs Virginia


Stats:

QB Drew Pyne, BGSU - Back from his leg injury. Started against Buffalo. 7 of 16 passing for 62 yards, 5 rushes for -30 yards. Taken out of the game after getting sacked hard 5 times, along with multiple hits.

WR Deion Colzie, MIA (OH) - NSR (Bye)

OL Ty Chan, CONN - Started at OT vs University of Alabama at Birmingham. Good pass protection, not so good on the run game (didn't need it)

NB Lorenzo Styles, tOSU - Back from the injury, started at nickel back vs Penn State, 1 tackle (1 solo). Rotated out a bit, since he was still listed as "probable" for the game.

C Pat Coogan, IND - Started at C vs Maryland, taken out around 3Q, since it was a massacre. Excellent in both run blocking and pass blocking, and cleared the way for Mendoza's TD run.

TE Holden Staes, IND - Played against Maryland, 1 reception for 13 yards. Used mostly as a blocker, and on special teams.

OL Joey Tanona, Purdue - Started at LT vs Michigan. He's the second best lineman on that team.

WR Rico Flores, UCLA - NSR (Bye)

OL Rocco Spindler, NEB - Started at RG vs USC. Solid performance while wearing a "club" on his hand. He's going to get more surgery done on that hand after the season is over.

S Kennedy Urlacher, USC - Played against Nebraska mostly on special teams, 1 tackle (1 solo)

DL Tyson Ford, CAL - Played vs Virginia, NSR.

DL Aidan Keanaaina, CAL - Started at DT vs Virginia, 10 tackles (4 solo)

WR Jayden Thomas, UVA - Played against CAL, NSR

RB Micah Bell, UGA - NSR vs Florida.

OL Sam Pendleton, TENN - Started at C vs Oklahoma. Had a bad day, PFF rating 47.7. Part of this was due to the guards not having the best of days either against a quality front 7.

RB Logan Diggs, MISS - Played against South Carolina, 1 rush for 1 yard.

WR Braylon James, TCU - NSR, DNP. Still hasn't played this year.

WR Tobias Merriweather, UTAH - NSR, DNP vs Cincinnati. Still injured.

CB Jaden Mickey, BSU - Started against Fresno State, switched on and off between CB and NB. 2 tackles (1 solo), 1 PBU, 1 TFL

K Zac Yoakam, HOU - Played against West Virginia, handled kickoffs

DL Aiden Gobiara, JMU - Started against Texas State, 7 tackles (6 solo), 1 TFL. Disrupted many running plays by himself.

CB Ryan Barnes, UMass - NSR (bye)
