Saban is no higher authority to speak about College football.
Among other things, year after year he pushed players out of the program who didn't pan out.
He also turned a job intended as an intern role of sorts for minority coaches into a wayward home for fired head coaches.
He also was constantly in a kerfuffle about the transfer rules and NIL (gee, you mean other teams can pay players?) because it didn't help him win football games.
I grant that he earned the right to pick his exit time but he bailed because college football wasn't be played by his rules anymore.
