Dowd and Bevaqua are both on the CFP oversight committees - let's see what influence they have.

The Selection Committee is unimpressive. The fact that they have to point out that they are "high integrity individuals" is your first sign that something is rotten in Denmark.

A talented group of 13 high-integrity individuals with experience as coaches, student-athletes, college administrators and journalists, along with sitting athletics directors, comprise the selection committee. Members of the committee are Chris Ault, Troy Dannen, Mark Dantonio, Jeff Long, Ivan Maisel, Chris Massaro, Mack Rhoades (chair), Mike Riley, David Sayler, Wesley Walls, Carla Williams and Hunter Yurachek.

    • The solution is join the Big 12, beat everyone by 70 every game. Basically play an Ohio St. schedule - DiscoRick - 7:29am 12/3/25
      • The ACC is a far better fit demographically and we're already there in most sports. - Curly1918 - 8:57am 12/3/25
      • Don't necessarily disagree with this, BUT look at Big 12 academic schools rank - dreadful. - LanceManion - 7:50am 12/3/25
        • I say it more to prove the point that they shouldn't even be a consideration in the process. - DiscoRick - 7:53am 12/3/25
          • Agree. If the schools weren't populated by morons, I actually think the Big 12 is a better fit - LanceManion - 7:58am 12/3/25
            • Yeah, that's true. The Big 10 anymore would accomplish the goal too. - DiscoRick - 8:01am 12/3/25
              • ... - DiscoRick - 8:04am 12/3/25
    • as long as it’s subjective and there is weight given to human evaluation in any form, there are - WestCoastIrishFan - 7:01am 12/3/25
      • Of course, but that's where the guys in charge of governance need to hit on "integrity" - - LanceManion - 7:06am 12/3/25
        • You fix this just like government, make the deliberations public. [NT] - DiscoRick - 7:36am 12/3/25
          • Second choice to an objective standard, but still better than what we have now. - LanceManion - 7:46am 12/3/25
            • Sure smells like Tammany Hall. [NT] - DiscoRick - 7:52am 12/3/25
        • Do you really think that's what they did? Or did they produce the result they want and justify it? [NT] - DiscoRick - 7:32am 12/3/25
          • Of course that's what they did. But the story needs to hold up. [NT] - LanceManion - 7:42am 12/3/25
            • Yep, it's like saying Ohio St. Is #1 because they beat good Texas, UM, and Illinois teams. [NT] - DiscoRick - 7:49am 12/3/25
              • Yep. Which is the argument for joining a shit conference until this all gets consolidated in 10 yrs. [NT] - LanceManion - 7:53am 12/3/25
