BYU would be in even though they are ranked #11 and lose the conference championship game while the losers of the 5 "other games" would be out of the tournament? So, if ND was ranked #6 for example and ended up losing in the "other games" they would be out (presuming they are not the highest ranked team playing in the "other games") but BYU ranked 11th would still be in even if they lost? Why are the losing teams in the "other games" out but all the losers of the conference championship games in regardless? Talk about a format that would force ND to join a conference. I use ND as an example but it could be any team ranked higher than the losers of conference games. And what's he doing with the ACC champion? In the current year format, it appears he's leaving the winner completely out of the playoffs. He's got the six auto-in conference championship game teams in, plus the 5 "other games" winners, plus the highest ranked loser of the "other games". So, the highest ranked team in the "other games" would be in regardless of whether or not they win their game. What skin do they have in winning the game? For that matter, why would the conference championship teams give a shit? Those teams could just play their subs the whole game and rest their starters for the playoffs knowing they are in regardless. Meanwhile, nine of the ten teams in the "other games" are facing elimination and have to play their starters and try to win the game to make the playoffs.
