Morality is both ND's strength and weakness.

ND won't ruthlessly, voraciously, and maniacally go after playoff spots, bowl bids, or players with no consideration for the player, game, or the spirit of competition while pursuing more prestige or power.

Which is why ND also appeals to some of those who believe there is more to life. It's also why the Church has survived 2000 years of bad popes and scandals.

There's a fundamental universal truth at its core that prevents it behaving like secular institutions and it provides stability.
