Love is a special talent and while Price is a high-level RB he doesn't have Love's skill sets. Price has nothing to gain in returning and much more to lose. I don't think he becomes a 1st rounder by staying. He is a 4-year guy who has 2 solid years of tape. Based on past drafts, 2nd day for sure, maybe 2nd round depending on how he tests out. If Love can't win the Heisman this year (heck it is really just a QB award), Price isn't going to win it with guys like Jeremiah Smith, Sayin, Pavia and Manning already hyped.
Re: NIL $, it would seem that his NIL $ would be less than Love who, based on various sources in google is $1.5 - 2.0M. Based on 2025 draft, the last pick in the 2nd round = $1.8M AAV, and 3rd round = $1.5M AAV. So unless he projects outside of Day 2, at worst, he makes the same in NIL even if he is picked last in the 3rd round. And he is in the pros and one year closer to his next contract and one less year on the tires which is a big deal for RBs.
It doesn't make sense for ND to "overpay" him in NIL $ since we have a deep RB room and we'd be better served spreading money around than having a bloat for one RB. I think we'd be better served by spending the $$ on the DL (and maybe for Williams) which is the weakest part of our team assuming our current crop of young WRs pan out.
