Very little of most endowments is available for ad hoc spending to get a new left tackle. Trust me on this. Almost all of it is restricted in various ways.
Rich alumni need to be approached, with an eye to creating a dedicated fund.
To read this board, people seem to think an endowment is a big piggy bank. Not how it works.
