By and large, you have to be a "special" back to go in round 1, ala Gibbs, Barkley, Love etc. Price is not in that group so it would appear to be Day 2 guy.
There is a big gap between Love and Price re: the pros and the gap between Price and the other RBs isn't so great. If you look at the teams in the play offs, they all seem to have a good ground game but frequently have a shared rb depth chart which is why the salaries for RBs have dropped. Almost everyone needs two (wear & tear, injuries etc). One example is the Saints. If they pass on Love @ 8, they are likely to draft a RB @42. If Seattle doesn't re-sign Walker, they will need to draft a RB in round 1. Detroit, having traded Montgomery, are going to need another RB to supplement Gibbs and Price is a good fit. Etc etc etc. Price has an additional skill set re: kick returning which really cinches his status RB #2 in the draft.
