My grandmother used to work at the homeless shelter there in South Bend. Lou would attend the annual fund raiser, you all probably remember the hand fans with his face on them. One time after it was over my brother and I met with him. We told him the story of our dad who threw our T.V. out of the second story of our house after the loss to U.S.C. in 1974. He was really down to earth, got a good laugh out of that story and signed a poster we had of the Snow Bowl that we framed and gave to our dad as a gift.
Truly a once in a lifetime human being. Hate that he's gone.
