If they removed the Edgar Ramp, the pension still wouldn’t be fully funded for 25-30 years

There is also the issue of pension spiking. Employees are allowed to bank vacation and sick leave and use that to spike their pension benefit in the year before they retire. There is also double dipping for the union heads. Retiring but then drawing a salary in addition to the pension. It is a mess and it would take successive governors to fully fund the pension system.
