Coach Freeman is quite capable of physically pounding Mr. Fleeger to a pulp, but he'd also be the last person in this world to do so without any lawful justification.

I'd wager dollars to dimes, that Fleeger was simply trying to find fame and fortune (more of the latter) by causing trouble, hoping for a big undeserved payday.
