When a kid chooses ND, it is because of academics, Marcus Freeman, 4 for 40, etc.

When he chooses another school, it is because of money.

I am as much of an ND homer as anyone but, and as much as I love to read our commitments' comments about why they chose ND, this new era of college football stains every decision these kids make.

Without knowing anything about this 'recruitment' (should we now call this 'bidding' instead of 'recruiting'?), I tend to think ND did right to maintain financial discipline.
