with yourself being closer to a nuclear war since the Cuban Missile crisis and, even worse, having absolutely no plan in place to find an off ramp. There is absolutely no motivation in the West to find a path for peace. The only motivation seems to be to supply a never-ending stream of weapons to Ukraine until we back a sick and old Putin in the corner. Let's cross our fingers then, right?
What's you're response going to be? "Trust me! He won't use them!" Ha.
You're evil. And someone around Biden needs to stop the proxy warfare being waged by his handlers.
Seems like a bad idea to let Putin get away with murder (literally) every time he throws a tantrum, just because he has nukes. Nevertheless, you have to recognize the dangers of the situation.
Perhaps the most equitable unwind of this would be an immediate return to pre-February borders. The separatist sections of Donbas could then have a UN monitored vote on their preferences. Perhaps even extend that to Crimea. Do not extend that to any sector controlled by Ukraine before Ferbruary. Then, there are the very thorny issues of war crimes trials and reparations for the vast destruction perpetrated by the Russians. Perhaps the deal could be sweetened by a pledge that Ukraine will not join NATO.
I'm not sure Putin is ready for that kind of settlement, yet. It may take several thousand more deaths among his drunken conscript army to hammer him down.
I was a CO during the Viet Nam War.
I a straunch anti-Communist.
Putin is an unapologetic old school communist.
The Ukranians are fighting for their own freedom against a genocidal autocrat who wants to extinguish their culture, language and history.
This is happening in Europe, just like when Hitler invaded Poland... when the US sat on our hands for way way way too long.
I supported absolutely nothing else Biden is doing.
I feel any US president would do the same.
In Biden's shoes, Trump would probabaly do MORE.
When Ukraine ejects Russia from Crimea and the Donbas and absolutely humiliates Putin in the process, Lord help us he goes to his grave without using the nuclear button.
Some territory in Ukraine isn't worth risking a nuclear catastrophe to me but, for you and Biden's handlers, it obviously is.

And most of the civilian deaths have been in the Russian soeaking areas of Ukraine.
This is all about a dying madman's fantasy of being a czar.
It wasn't worth it during the Obama years when Putin annexed Crimea and it's still not worth it.
I would include in retaliation... but I would never say that if I were in power.
Hope you enjoy your comfy suburban life.

who make an informed decision not to participate should not be required to do so...in fact our own DOD recognizes CO status...albeit, with convincing evidence of that conscientious objection.
At the same time, it is expected that citizens take on the responsibility of defending our nation...a tough call for some.
If you had friends and relatives suffering like these Ukrainians you would feel the same.
My Ukrainian wife weeps daily for her mother and brother and nieces and nephews who huddle in darkenhed terror every day... while you are worred about the cost of gas to drive to your golf club.
Putin shouid be dragged to the Hague... if the Russian people do not go Gaddafi on him first.
that seems to be a pretty big 180. Now Chris and you are willing to risk a nuclear catastrophe over it.

Why am I linked with Chris? I appreciate his posts but rarely agree with his positions?
