Their reaction to Covid provides a stark contrast to ours.

we would likely be in a similar situation.

on those Fauci/Biden edicts? Why are you lying? Have you forgotten?
don't believe virus has it's evolutionary natural course, believe human intervention will "shut down virus".
But go ahead, be the idiot once again. You seem to enjoy the role.

COVID can't be eradicated like some other diseases such as Smallpox or Polio...

Chris could have just asked him.
From their new dynamic covid policy to their rapidly aging population to the massive real estate ponzi schemes. They are a threat, but they are an imploding threat.
Hopefully we are taking note of how that government has been able to gain and maintain control of it's population to this point. And hopefully we are actively working to keep our government from reaching that same level of power and control so that we don't begin to face the same existential problems.
of intentionally adjusting their population dynamics.
Their response seems to be contrary to that.

But it wasn't.
"So that’s why they’ve adopted the “zero covid” policy?"
He didn't offer an explanation for why they have adopted a "zero covid" policy.
After the Jeb thing yesterday...I think you're rushing these posts. Maybe try slowing down a bit.
Ideology and policy. China and US are opposite. US is a hell of the elderly but a paradise of children. In China children are miserable but the elderly are well taken care of. Yes, one-child policy enforced from 1980s changed the society and created many new social issues and dilemma. But the tradition is already in people' blood. It won't change. The government doesn't dare to do anything bad to the elderly.
It might just be a big power grab. As soon as Xi got his third term he announced that he was going to expand the number of state run enterprises and he more than doubled the number of members on his executive decision board
Putin surrounded himself with yes men, and you have to imagine that was a factor in his decision to invade Ukraine. The new members of the decision board are all said to be Xi yes men.
In the last couple of months he has been able to significantly increase his hold on government; which is crazy given how much control he previously had. I don't know if there is a specific link to his covid policy and his ability to gain that control, but certainly all of the tactics and technology used to implement his covid policy would have been paramount in his ability to gain more and more power.

Oh wait, no they won’t. They only trash their own country.
...Chinese citizens are being locked in their apartments for months on end for hardly any reason at all. And, if you accept their case numbers (which I don't), then there is no justification for it at all. The WHO China case and death numbers are extremely low by any standard...the lowest in the world...in the noise for death statistics for a nation of 1.3B people.
I talk with people from China on a regular basis for business, and we non-Chinese have to pretend that our Chinese counterparts are not being oppressed. It is weird.
China is an awful place. Makes Brave New World seem like a RomCom.
