If you are over 50 todays world is bizarre.
Perhaps things were always this way and we covered it up.
But the amount of mental illness we see in our everyday lives seems to have exploded these part couple decades.
Nothing better exemplifies this trend than the amount of homelessness we see everywhere.
This cannot be genetics suddenly gone awry.
There must be something amiss in the way we are parenting during early development.
San Francisco’s bandaid approach failure screams at us to look deeper.

closed (see link)...not sure if you recall the "Agnews" Asylum closure in Santa Clara from your time in the Bay Area...mental health has always been an issue...we just don't deal with it very well today.
This is a significant part of the homeless situation, especially in SF.
