The Boston Herald is reporting 91% of football players studied have CTE.
A study of nearly 400 players showed CTE.
“Boston University researchers say they have now diagnosed 345 former NFL players with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) out of 376 former players studied.”

He’s done. When Mike Webster’s brain was looked at the comment
that has always stuck with me is, it’s as though he was in 25000 car accidents. He lived to 50.
There is a known gene that indicates higher susceptibility to CTE….
….I know a person who worked on isolating it and developing the screen……their biggest problem was getting people to submit to testing. Players, coaches, universities……no interest in helping.
Now, it’s available though. It s probably not the only gene though
It’s APOEε4 and is believed to only detect the likely severity of CTE.
The NFL, and all other spots endeavors (this includes youth sports and college athletics) have been hiding from this event in athletes. The build up of Tao proteins in the brain is caused by injuries to the brain no matter how small the injury.
I wish these studies would include the study of steroid (HGH too) use/abuse by athletes vis a vis CTE. There is a connection I’m sure of it.
Might be some selection bias there
Might be that those who were exhibiting symptoms were included in the study.
