In case you missed my link below.
Beware the outlier studies. And the report Stephens comments on in his op-ed is a major outlier.
Masks work. Sorry MAGA nation - there is no conspiracy of silence (or whatever the conspiracy is).

Mine never came off.
rates...27,800 hospitalizations. Things are much better than they were, but for those at risk for themselves and those who have potential symptoms, continuing to wear masks is the smart thing to do in confined spaces with others of "Unknown" infected status...then there are those who choose to "brave" it and become statistics...or create statistics...dumb.

They are less risky than they seem.
I've been mask-less on them for quite some time...unless I have a cold, and then I wear one, to be a good citizen, etc.
Interesting.

only two of us wore masks. Lot’s of sneezing, coughing and sniffles and yet, no mask wearing. 3 hours stuck in a metal tube.

You mask wearing lemmings make it easy for the rest of us to identify the idiots.
Carry on, COVID warrior.

And then a face shield over all of that.
I flew the week after the mask mandates were lifted and almost no one was wearing a mask. So, again, if masks work, the vast majority of the public doesn't believe it. Meaning the CDC, et al have lost all credibility with the public. And that isn't a good thing.
Also, make sure to wash your fetish gear.
Makes it so much easier to spot the morons.
of his "Updated" Cochrane Review in front of him...Baron's just as much a nutcase and loser as his Avator, DJT...as anyone can see, that Cochrane 'Grab Bag' of studies is riddled with very questionable practices...compare and contrast with the NEJM study that is 100% COVID-19 data and 'Difference-in-Difference' analysis...best practice, for sure.

Meanwhile, the updated Cochrane analysis shows that they analyzed 12 RCT’s on masks which finds no benefit.
Your link quote: “there is no RCT for the impact of masks on community transmission of any respiratory infection in a pandemic” from Feb 2021.
RCT’s are by far the best studies as you know.. Your link shows that the CDC and a Fauci enforced their mask mandate without the strong evidence required to impose the vastly impactful public health policy that they did.
This link proves that the NAS, like the CDC, NIAID, and NIH were all acting in concert…..but without solid data for a damaging policy.
Further, the linked article specifically notes the absence of definitive studies…..and then cherry picks observational analysis from a myriad of sources while not listing any of the many conflicting studies. Hardly a fair review which became the hallmark of COVID era medical publishing under political pressure.
The new Cochrane Review is far more credible given that it reviews 12 large RCT’s…..exactly what your link says that it lacked. It failed to show any significant benefit of masks.
Your claim that “masks work” in the context of general popularity use for preventing the spread of viral infection is absolutely absurd given what everyone knows now. I will attribute your lack of understand of this to being “out of your lane”.

No one believes the "experts" and that is a massive failure that does not bode well for the future. Trust in journalism, trust in the medical systems and trust in science are historically low. You keep saying the replication crisis isn't a crisis, it clearly is.

always have and always will for very good reasons...it's only the political opportunists, such as Trump, FOX, etc. who don't buy in...and those who mindlessly follow them...heck, even Baron wouldn't dare stick his head in a ward containing contagious patients without a mask.

Can't remember who said it, and I can't even remember what the topic was, but "Humans are terrible at mitigation and excellent at adaptation." Seems true on a number of topics.
Burwell asked Fauci if she should bring a mask with her while traveling, to which he responded: “Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection.”
But, I do remember who said this: “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep[ing] out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you. I do not recommend that you wear a mask…”
If you zoom out, it's really quite hilarious. Stupid humans.
I still wonder when I see some guy with a cloth mask on. I mean, why???
