I love Max. Understand the objective to speed up the game, but not a fan of the new rules, including no shift and pizza boxes for bases.
Baseball’s beauty is that there is no clock.

They have the Little Leaguers doing it now,

If you ever played the game competitively you know MLB was UNNECESSARILY taking too long. Batters adjusting gloves and stepping out of the box while pitchers shaking off pitches forever. Throws to first base just to slowdown runners. Infield shifts that limited hits and runs. All rules changing the game for the better.
to mid 50's. What is beautiful about it is being outdoors mostly in good weather.

looked at my watch during a Giants game. This 'Pitch Clock' rule runs counter to the very essence of what has always been the 'Fan Experience'...i.e. a "Relaxing Day" at the ballpark.
For those fans on meth, just be glad the National Game isn't Cricket ;-).
give or take 20. (It was an enjoyable experience being at the ballpark)
Those were considered long games. Now a game lasts somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 hours.
Commercials, and selling product is a major reason why these games have become intolerable. The team owners/stock-holders condone it for the profit. Players fiddling about prolonging a game is money.
game attendance to drop...IMO it's not the length of the game. As for all those watching at home on TV, if time is that important, then they can put the game on their DVR and watch it in 20 minutes ;-). Again, for those who do attend in person, what's an additional 25 minutes out of the 6-7 hours you've invested?...besides, it gives 'true fans' more time to organize their "Scoring Sheets".
Get with the program, Tyroney.

Hypocrisy energizes me.
Let him call a strike if the batter takes too long.
All solely in his judgement.
People will adjust their behavior quickly.
I am in favor of electronic strike zones and such.

out of the batter's box without permission from the umpire (considered a time out if they do) and a batter may
only ask for time out once every three at bats. The pitcher may begin his delivery immediately after receiving
the ball from the catcher. (The onus is now on the opposing benches to keep a record of the batters)
Picks up the pace from the stupid antics of batters adjusting batting gloves, getting a new bat, stuffing
a wad of chewing tobacco in his face, playing with his shoes, and so on. Once the pitcher steps on
the mound he is automatically required to get in a set position to begin his motion and may not delay.
If either player deviates from that, it becomes an automatic strike or ball depending upon who it is.
No time clock required just an umpire's discretion. That should speed things up. (they should tinker with
that)
I can't watch baseball as it is. Too much BS and a complete waste of time.
April of mid-May when it may be too cold. Also how about shortening the regular season a bit, though that doesn't affect the length of the game it eliminates the boredom
of the also rans playing the season out.
And don't get me started on the body armor that guys wear today, or the gay oven mitts when they are on the base paths.
An umpire can issue a warning to a batter or pitcher for lolly gagging.
If the player continues to lollygag, the umpire can order a strike or ball as an enforcement mechanism, that cannot be appealed.
Maybe they overreacted, but baseball must change. Dudes stepping out of the box to adjust their batting gloves, helmet and adjust their junk after every pitch is just excessive. Likewise with pitchers, who seem to considered their need to indefinitely ponder every pitch as sacred. Just throw the fucking ball!
I hate the oversized bases, though it will help my Indians, who steal a ton of bases. Also agree on the banning of the shift. If dudes can't hit the ball to the opposite field, they should be punished.
A grown man adjust his gloves and dick in between every pitch. Get in the box and hit. And what the hell happened to pitching? 5 innings is a quality start? And then the endless parade of 1 inning specialists.
If you want some fast paced action while still having solid fundamentals and strategy, college softball is what you want. Same principals just played by athletes who actually care about the game and not the paycheck.
Limited sample so far..but games are crisper and moving noticeably faster.
