Will we have any ally anywhere who will ever trust us again?
And under that scenario why wouldn't it then be prudent for Taiwan to surrender peacefully to Xi and Israel to Khamenei?
And was Pat Buchanan right that we never should have fought Hitler?

They'd be crazy not to do so.
Certainly Tucker and Greenwalld are in their camp. For them, MAGA should mean Make Autocrats Great Again.

Of course we should have fought Hitler. That is asinine if Buchanan really does think that.
Buchanan does have a point about how we should have stayed out of WWI, and if the Treaty of Versailles were more reasonable (like the peace after WWII), then we wouldn't have had a Hitler in charge of Germany.
But, while hindsight shows we should have tried harder to stay out of WWI, the Zimmerman Telegram kind of sealed the deal, I think. Granted, our aid to the UK led to Germany flirting with Mexico, which makes you realize that aid can cause a war, so it is serious business (and should be handled more behind the scenes than we are currently doing it).
To paraphrase OC “Thank God for FDR and the Democrats” in that one. That lifeline helped keep Hitler at bay before our direct involvement.
They must not have known the magnitude of what Hitler was doing...which would be easy (to be in that state of ignorance) back in 1939. I can see why they would reasonably believe we should mind our own business until actually attacked, if they didn't know the magnitude of Hitler's plans.
Just like some know exactly what Putin is.
I’m talking about materially aiding Britain and the Soviet Union in 1940 which was desperately needed to stop him, not getting directly involved with troops. Many in the GOP were against it. Same shit we are talking about here and now. Never thought the party of Reagan would be on the wrong side of history again on that issue.
Biden would have a hard time remembering who we are fighting...couldn't come up with "Hamas" earlier this week. He called them "our opponent" because he couldn't remember. Biden is unfit. 25th Amendment.
to Putin February 2022. Orange would have told them to give Putin what he wanted.
...which means Putin might have waited another 4 years to invade.
An invasion would mess that up. He would have been a fool not to wait. Once Orange lost, no reason not to do so.
Orange never once stood up to Putin and in fact initially praised the invasion.
As usual your comment of me being a New Dealer is wrong. There were some aspects of it that were good, others not so much. (Editorially, that was your original post which you then changed.) I was praising FDR for his foresight in recognizing and trying to deal with the Hitler threat while much of the rest of the nation, including most of the GOP were isolationist and wouldn’t do so.
History often rhymes.
I just thought you professing your love and adoration of FDR was a little weird. I can understand why you might backpedal after I changed my post to reference the concentration camps. FDR did a lot of good things. He did a lot of bad things. Not worthy of unconditional love, as you now had to backpedal. But then, you don't really love him that much. You were just acting like you did to win points on this board, thinking you were provoking me somehow...which is a bit middle school of you.
rest of the nation didn’t. I said nothing praising his economic program or the later internment of Japanese Americans.
All you do constantly is deflect and deny another irrelevant topic (or here several) when you can’t address a point and know you are wrong.

using Ukranian boys to "hurt Putin" (as Lloyd Austin said) so yes, no one should trust us.
and just accepted extinction. And then what about the other former Soviet states in the region? Same deal? Or would you draw a line somewhere? Maybe Alaska?
