Just look at what he is doing at age 39. It is otherworldly.
Will anyone ever eclipse 40,000 points? The nearest active player is Kevin Durant, at around 28,000. Just think about that.
I'll leave the GOAT debate to others. I believe that is Michael, without question. But the sustained excellence of LeBron is simply amazing.
Hate on him all you want for his opinions. I will say this - far better to have a player of his stature actually stand for things, rather than someone like Michael who never took a stand on anything, other than money.
You cannot deny his greatness.

MJ gets the GOAT nod. But he didn’t have LeBron’s size and just massive court presence.
Michael was a better defender; LeBron is a better passer. He is #4 in career assists, which is amazing.
I love watching LeBron play.
Brian Windhorst is an NBA analyst. I don't follow the NBA closely, but he seems to be very plugged in and clearly knows his shit.
Brian has won the lottery of life multiple times. He had the good fortune to be an aspiring sportswriter, growing up in Akron, at the same time as LeBron. His mother was a long time teacher at Akron's St Vincent-St Mary high school and counts LeBron as a dear friend. He also had the good fortune to join the Akron Beacon Journal out of college and to have as his mentor Terry Pluto, a NE Ohio sports writing icon. Terry wrote the definitive history of the ABA - Loose Balls - that is a must read for any basketball fan.
Just like Ali made Howard Cosell, LeBron made Windhorst.
No father, no college and adulated all his life… but no drugs a very decent father and a fabulous businessman. His human flaws are more than tolerable.
Oh! And was far and away the most physically and mentally gifted player I’ve witnessed in my 76 years. The only thing that kept him from being the GOAT was that he’s not an asshole.

I'm not keen on his all of politics... but I have not walked in his shoes.

Like Frazier and Ali both are intertwined forever. What great players they were.

Much like with celebrities, the dummies are more than happy to offer up their profound thoughts.

Are you a glutton for punishment?
You’re a pussy. The sooner you realize this, the better.

“Hey, thank you for leaving me off your Mount Rushmore. I’m glad you did. Basketball is a team game, it’s not for individual honors. I won back-to-back state championships in high school, back-to-back NCAA championships in college, I won an NBA championship my first year in the league, an NBA championship in my last year, and nine in between. That, Mr. James, is etched in stone.”
