Power drunk liberal dealt an unexpected blow.
Whitmer already lost a lower court ruling over her power grab, but she appealed to the state Supreme Court claiming the the ruling was “a product of Republican judges”. Guess not. Boom.

what is your point?
As an "outsider" when it comes to all things "Michigan", I can't help but view this in context...our #1 Public Servant (sic) is telling everyone "It will go away when the warm weather comes" while leaving critical decisions to the states...your governor did what needed to be done to save the lives of her constituents...somewhat like the oft-cited ethical problem facing a father who brakes the law by stealing a life saving drug for his kid...
With 20/20 hindsight we now know that the surge in cases, hospitalizations and deaths last winter would have been lessened had even more "draconian" measures been taken...but then, there was an election to be won by the guy who didn't want to face reality (and prison).
Michigan to Florida to those times forward.
Florida had no outside mask mandate since Sept 2020. Florida had no indoor mask mandate since Feb or so ‘21.
Florida had loads of fleeing tourists from badly affected states (including Whitmer).
And Florida had far, far better rates.
MI had the worst rates despite far, far more draconian measures.
You’re just spewing your Kos (or where ever you obtain your obvious talking points) website lies this point.
You further erode your horrible credibility problem here.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/florida/
Gov. Whitmer held MI's numbers down...until your SC took the mitigation measures away...look what happened.
As for FLA...they had a surge last summer, then again in the winter...and are rising again...Michigan's positivity rates are significantly below FLA's right now
I'll get back with more later today...stick around.

You don’t really read others posts often, do you? You’re just focused on regurgitating Left wing talking points you’ve seen on other sites.
Gretch changed the testing criteria in 2 ways to stop articially inflating the numbers that suddenly was making her look bad.
1)She changes requirement from “anyone can request a covid test” to “only a doctor can order a test, and the patient must have symptoms”. This eliminates the largest group of COVID cases (asymptomatic positives) that most other states weren’t counting because they did not have voluntary testing like MI under Whitmer.
2) She eliminated the mandatory weekly testing of HS athletes this Spring while not providing the more expensive test to eliminate false positives from people already vaccinated
3) she has a political group that reviews and adjust medical charts (unprecedented by the way)- including changing the diagnosis of the treating doctor retrospectively before recording their official data. Those numbers always had higher chart reviews before she got caught going to FLA while her state had the highest COVID rate. To thereafter having chart reviews that found less COVID cases than were recorded.
You just look stupid arguing with me…your ICU buddy would also look stupid if he argued with me on this. You are out of your depth.
The fact is that MI never had unusually high rates when compared to states using the same testing protocols. But Gretch needed high numbers to justify her emergency powers until this Spring when it suddenly worked against her and she changed the testing methods to adjust the rates back down again.

In March, 2020, Gov. Whitmer expanded testing to virtually all Michiganders, without the need for a doctor's order (I have a Michigan document to that effect)...so the numbers from that time forward in 'Worldometers' data sets should be comparable to FLA's data...FLA's governor essentially declared "Spring Break" as "Party Time" and suffered a surge in cases, etc....didn't have to be...he could have shutdown the beaches and bars, but didn't...many of the resultant deaths are on him...meanwhile, in Michigan, cases and deaths were way below FLA's...thanks to Gov. Whitmer.
Then in the fall, when the MISC invalidated Whitmer's restrictions, things loosened up and Michigan, too, experienced high levels of cases and deaths...I could be wrong but I sense a 'cause and effect' here, but then we may never know. What I do know is that the way to beat a deadly, contagious virus is to get everyone vaccinated ASAP, and in the meantime, until that comes to pass, keep people from getting close to each other...really very simple...something that Gretchen Whitmer can grasp, but sadly others can't.
This isn't rocket science, Baron...you should know this...but for whatever reason you show no signs of it.

when you're done with that, we'll discuss your own credibility...but I really want to hear how you can make that assertion...
Lamenting that the President left such decisions to the states? Let me spoil it for you: He didn't have the authority to mandate more than that. I invite you to re-visit 9th-grade Civics.
…….exactly the same argument he would make for illegally surveiling the POTUS and leaking within the INT community.
managed to rapidly mobilize federal resources in order to have enough people to actually administer the vaccines that were becoming available...absolutely critical...meanwhile, Trump did all he could to downplay testing when we needed to know where and how pervasive the virus was (DJT: "I always wanted to downplay testing")...where do you get these claims, Jake?
Oh, and as for the "communist" ad hominem...I've gotten two "Q Clearances" from our Intel Community over my career, plus an MBA that I put to very good use in the corporate world...not the typical "communist" CV you'd expect...but then I don't live in your made-up world...hope it's sunny and warm there.
See you on another thread.

Back in March, 2020, the whole country was essentially 'fending for itself'...states duking it out with each other for PPE supplies, while our #1 Public Servant was calling COVID-19 either a hoax, or something that would vanish with the summer winds (all the while knowing full well how deadly it is).
Gov. Whitmer IMHO did whatever she could to "Save Lives"...back when there was no vaccine available and all we could do to defend ourselves was make it as hard as possible for the virus to be transmitted. As we all saw, the GOP caved to the craven 'strategy' of Donald Trump and made the calculus of 'retaining power' vs saving lives...lives that can't be restarted from the grave.
Clearly, I don't share your joy in the court's ruling.

to block a group that was aiming to close the loophole that she used to wield her illegal power thinking that now she had a friendly court.
The point is that in a surprise and crushing defeat, the Dem majority MI Supreme Court just prevented the Bitch from more power grabs also.
That's the point.
I accidentally linked the Oct article that I was rereading rather than the new ruling from this past Fri July 10,2021.

Hyperinflation, violent crime explosion, a humanitarian crisis at the border, China eating our lunch. Other than that, things are going swimmingly.
>We are not in a state of "Hyper-inflation"...you're just being "Hyper"...I have it on very good authority (a consulting firm that has served the Fortune 500 for decades) that the FED will keep interest rates low (like near zero) until the end of 2022 and then likely raise the funds rate by 0.25 point every few months...trending toward a level near 2%.
BTW, the current "Core CPI" has inched up a bit, but is leveling off already, so don't freak out over that measure...we're looking good for the next 18 months or so...but if you've got some reliable info to the contrary, please share it...
>Violent Crime...who knows for sure what the root causes are, but Biden didn't suddenly bring this on on Jan. 20th...could have something to do with the loss of jobs brought on by the COVID pandemic.
>China...go to YouTube and search for "Biden, China" and I think you'll find our guy being exquisitely clear to Xi that we're going to compete with them...and WIN...it's the "Democracies" vs the "Authoritarians", to use Biden's terms...(definitely not a "communist", if you were worried about that)
BTW, how did the 'former guy' perform on these issues?...how did those tariffs work out?
What else you got?...

You realize that everyone who takes a peek at this thread can see right through you...don't you? So far, you've got nothing...nada, and 'ad hominems' only cut it with your "peeps"...put in the work...do better.
You tried to demand examples of Biden's failures. You were given some easy ones off the top off my head that took 3 seconds. You made up more nonsense in return.
And you want me to help you do more "research?" You've embarrassed yourself.
condition...you may not believe me, but I gave you information that Fortune 500 companies pay good money for...and the fact that Wall Street continues to break records shows empirically that what I'm telling you is true...now the ball is in your court...prove me wrong.
Other people are watching...you can't just walk away and 'declare victory'...it doesn't work that way, dude...you're out in the Open here.
You can throw all the insults and ad hominems you want, but it doesn't change the truth...sorry about that ;-).
Disaster.Biden is deteriorating by the day and only cultists ignore the obvious.
but let's take these one at a time...
>"Open Borders"...this phrase has become so hackneyed that it deserves the 'trope' moniker...how do you define "Open Borders"? (Warning: I've got data to share on this...be confident in what you say).
>Define "Inability to handle the Press"...as I've shown MAS, when he tries to flash his 7 second 'summaries' of a Biden press conference, a full viewing shows him WAY MORE informative than the previous office holder...never abuses the press...answers all questions...gives reasons and rationale for his positions...even smiles and jokes with the press (did you see any of that in the previous four years?)...so I'd say, he's doing just fine in that regard.
>VP Harris is one tough former prosecutor and senator...ask Bill Barr how he enjoyed being grilled by her...as for her current responsibilities, she knows how to attack a problem (e.g. Southern Border surge)...find ways to resolve the issues that are causing those 'Northern Triangle' immigrants to leave their homelands, by going to those countries and engaging their leaders...if those people feel safe enough to stay home...problem solved...make sense to you?
>Joe Biden is not 40 years old...he's 78...but....he has a wealth of Public Service knowledge at the highest levels of government, both domestic and international behind him...plus he has the respect of virtually all Senators who have ever dealt with him (ask Lindsey Graham) and has already broken the ice on a bi-partisan Infrastructure Bill (TBD on the final outcome)...something that no "Handler" could ever achieve....something tells me that the guy in the Kremlin was worried enough about JB that he helped orchestrate that "Ukrainian Scandal" which only ended up getting Trump impeached.
One more thing about Biden...even Gov. DeSantis couldn't praise him enough for his admins "immediate...from Day 1" response to the needs of a Red State like Florida (i.e. Surfside Condo Collapse)...Biden serves ALL Americans...not quite the case for the former guy.
Let's do more of this...I really appreciate you giving me this opportunity to spell out the truth...gracie!
