Assuming he was a confederate general since his statue was under siege by left wing activists…but that may be incorrect.

Perhaps the pendulum will begin to swing back the other way. Rocks and trees aren't racist. Statues of long dead figures from history shouldn't adversely impact your self worth. Maybe we do need cops after all...
Once codified it is never reversible.
Maybe there are exceptions, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
