is killed? It goes something like this - “if you didn’t want to get shot you should have obeyed his command “.
Maybe breaking into the Capitol building threatening the Vice President, Speaker Pelosi and all other members of Congress with injuries and death wasn’t a great idea. All others who participated in the insurrection should be thankful the Capitol police and Secret Service showed great restraint and that many, many more were not killed that day.
Babbitt family should look to the orange man if they are to blame any one.

Comply now, complain later.
So the next time a black guy gets capped we can all refer to this thread. Simple.
To quote Quest "play stupid games, win stupid prizes."
To quote Jim "Right I forgot you were there with her in the parking lot where she was shot."
They are on record. You fuck up....red white blue or black...and do not comply? You get fucking greased. Everyone commit these comments to memory. Done!
Albeit prodded and inspired by President Trump, Babbitt's threat level on January 6th was on par with an al queda terrorist. She was breaching the inner chambers of Congress (in session) when she was justifiably put down.
The black motorist stopped for a turn signal violation who is shot by a trigger happy cop merely because the cop perceives the blackness of the motorist's skin to be a threat.
Two completely different scenarios.
nothing was done to the Leftists.
Two tiered application of the law.

building while the legislators are in session, the shooting of an invader illegally and actively breaching the building through a broken window wouldn’t be objectively reasonable. You really think if you tried that at the WH, you wouldn’t be shot?
The question at hand was one of compliance with law enforcement. Babbitt was not, as you noted, and paid the price. A clean shoot.
In Connors scenario, as I understood it, a trigger happy cop shot an innocent motorist based on the officers perceived threat of the motorists skin color. While that almost certainly happens those instances do happen with the frequency we are led to believe.
When a shooting occurs - black or white - it's "generally" a result of noncompliance. Which we both agree is a justifiable use of deadly force by LE. Is that a fair statement?
I am not excusing Babbitt behavior that resulted in her ultimate demise.
It may be a factor in a rapidly developing scenario when coupled with other factors that a reasonable cop, based upon training protocols, has justification that the motorist poses a legitimate threat.
But, shooting a motorist merely because they fail to comply with a cop’s order does not justify the use of deadly force. The common denominator in those “bad shoot” cases is that the “threat” is the color of one’s skin versus objective factors.
I watch a ton of body camera and MVR footage. Sometimes there is a Tower of Babel moment where the motorist struggles to process the commands. Well trained professional police easily navigate the encounter without losing their shit and shooting the motorist.
Would you say that it was a factor in the Babbitt shoot? That an officer utilizing his or her training would have relied upon that factor to justify discharging their weapon it that rapidly changing situation?
evacuating. None of the others tried to do that. To call her an innocent victim or bystander is both a massive lie and disgusting.
Babbitt had breached several exterior and interior police lines at the time she was shot and killed.

Justifiable shoot. The other situation can be more nuanced and I agree that skin color alone isn’t the only issue.
circumstances into account under the 4th Amendment. The police could clearly use deadly force to stop that breach. It’s a miracle no one else got shot. It’s a clearly justified shoot IMHO. Completely different than an officer’s misperception of a what a black motorist is doing with his hands during a traffic stop that leads to a shooting. That may or may not turn out to have been justified, again depending on the specific circumstances. But it’s a completely different situation.
Like a guy passed out in a fast food drive thru and then tries to escape by grabbing an officer's weapon.

Depends on the circumstances if it was objectively reasonable to have shot her. If Pence was in the area, the secret service likely would have. That mob was calling to hang elected officials. You are putting the bunny in the hat that she wasn’t reasonably perceived to be a threat, and was non violent. That entire breach of the Capitol from the outside was violent including assaulting cops and breaking windows to make illegal entry. You really think if that Antifa crowd had breached the WH last summer and were crawling in through windows they wouldn’t have been shot? Please, my good man.
As I said, if the family feels aggrieved, file suit.

She stopped being innocent the moment she decided to break in the Capitol. She knew the risks of what she was doing. Or should have.

and threaten the lives of the VP, protesters who didn’t have weapons comparing with those who actually stormed the Capitol building - smashing their way in killing a police officer and on and on?

The remaining officers committed suicide. To my knowledge no officer succumbed to injuries received by the protesters. Your assertion that they - the protestors - killed anyone is not correct.
Nevertheless all tragic and sadly avoidable.

For the next "innocent black man" that gets turned into a grease spot by the cops your opinion is now duly noted. Should someone want to remind you of it later. For reals?
They can name a John Doe placeholder until they get the real name.
Bring it on. Maybe we will get some answers.
All I have ever asked is consistency from my liberal friends. If her family feels justified they should absolutely consider legal action.
illegal and violent entry into not just any building, the US Capitol while the first branch of govt is in actual session trying to certify a presidential election with the VP and all high ranking congressional leaders from both parties there. One of the rioters who is making illegal entry is shot while climbing through a broken window near the HOR chamber. And the party of law and order is making her out to be an innocent victim? Blaming the cop. Like I said, I guarantee if any of the Antifa assholes last summer was crawling through a WH window, they would have been shot, no questions asked. You guys are so fecked up on this one it isn’t even funny.

It is applied equally, regardless of politics or race.
The police are humans, and as such are flawed like everyone else.and they have very difficult and dangerous jobs. Much of the outrage in officer involved shootings that lead to riots aren't nearly as charitable towards the officer.
The restraint shown by the Capitol Police was amazing. They deserve a lot of credit. Many other police forces would have splattered those dipshits all over the Capitol steps.
The dipshits should consider themselves very lucky.
of them. If they perceive a threat they shoot first then ask questions.
