Ten years ago, my wife and I went out to Ballast Point at its original location in San Diego. Believe it or not, it was in the back of a homebrew supply store in a tired strip mall.
Ballast Point is one hell of a business success story.

My freshman year at ND, quarts of the "Big D" cost 39 cents apiece. You get what you pay for.
Among the better stouts were: Goose Island BCBS, Founders KBS, Evil Twin Double Barrell Jesus...
The generic beer was way back in in the generic craze at supermarkets. It came in a white can and had the word "Beer" printed on it in black.
