"Donald Trump is right to say America’s NATO allies aren’t paying their fair share. But, to the delight of the arms industry, that may be changing."
Merkel admits that the NATO freeloader party is going to over.

I come across seems to be made in China. Weird.
All NATO allies pledge to spend 2% of their GDP on defense. Last year two countries did it.
This was not something hidden by the media somehow.

And if Russia continues to be a problem, those defense budgets will rise on their own.
It's easy to lean towards socialism when your defense is substantially paid for by another country. Imagine what we could do with 2/3 or 3/4 of our military budget spent on other things. We might have better infrastructure and government services, too....or a lower (or nonexistent) national debt risk....or lower taxes.
Canada spends less than half their commitment. Why? Because they don't have to. It would not be a bad thing to make them pay their fair share...the share to which they are committed by treaty.
As far as Europe...if this is not a pressing problem, then don't we have to assume that the whole Red Scare thing is a red herring, used for domestic political purposes.
no more free lunch. At same time, when Trump spoke about this issue for first time, the some neocons from both parties defend this unfair spending sharing. Now, Bloomberg admit Trump is right, the current NATO cost sharing is unfair (to American tax payers).
You're just one tiny step above Hank.
Therefore, a Trump voter.

It was reported everywhere, and it has been debated extensively.
It came up repeatedly during the confirmation hearings of Mattis and Tillerson.
And in Trump's first press conference.
So you are wrong.
they will pay now because someone brought it up to their face
I'm sure your life will be a lot better once they do, Hank.
Again. That really has a history of working out well for us and them. And I wonder if this will save us money as promised. Looks like we are just going to ramp up our own arms spending anyway. What is the goal again?
