The media is milking the Gabby Petito story for all the ratings they can get.
AND, if she and her boyfriend were black we would not know their names.
BUT... does Ms, Reid feel there should be more coverage of the incredible violence among young black males, or would that be racist?

the dead American soldiers killed because of Biden and dwarf minded associates, the "Making the Taliban Great Again" strategy by leaving billions in military equipment, the bad exit strategy of Afghanistan, the southern border CRISIS, the shot mandates. the Biden administration lying about the family and seven children killed. That's quite a lot for the media to try and hide and the Gabby disappearance is the perfect distraction. The media tried with the border agents and the whip, but that went nowhere fast. There are dozens and dozens of young blacks murdered and just plain vanished that the media don't cover (including Fox). Newsmax has though. Joy Reid needs to look in the mirror because her, MSNBC,CNN,CBS,NBC,ABC,NPR, WaPo, and the NYT all are very selective on reporting inner city crime and murder and shootings. In other words, they don't. When was the last time Joy Reid had a segment on missing black teens? Saturday at the game, I received multiple Amber alerts about a missing black child from Gary, Indiana. Law enforcement found him but it was just a blurb in my local Gary area newspapers. The black talk Gary radio station never even mentioned the story.
Exhibit A - Joy Reid
But aspects of the case also appeal to everyone's inner detective. We all feel like we were the first ones to see through the dude's bullshit and can therefore solve any crime.
I don't think her race is the major driver of the coverage.

If she weren't so darned cute, the media might have moved on by now.
It is a proven concept that good looking people have an advantage in the work place, and a far bigger advantage in media and entertainment.

A similar story from the black community.

Only interested in this story because they were a white couple? I think it has more to do with the circumstances.
