With monopolies there is no incentive to provide any modicum of service.
at they want. Cheap prices. Unfortunately, it's impossible to have cheap, quality and fast. something's got to give. My give is...I do my best not to travel.
But they have destroyed any remaining vestiges of service.
And their bottom lines have been pretty flush.
I don't have the luxury of travel avoidance.
There is usually 2 choices max for any flight itinerary these days.
I've actually had best luck flying American, and have had bad experiences on United, Delta and Frontier...but its a total crapshoot.
JetBlue is the best "discount" airline by far and probably my favorite overall.
Waiting for them to de-ice the plane. I understand that it happens, but don't load the flight first. Just delay the flight so people can make other arrangements if needed.
Just how in the F does that happen, our flight was going to be leaving on time before the hour delay.
It doesn't work both ways.
Annoying that they went on a break while you were on route, but it certainly isn't their fault.
Then, once you realize you won't have workers for an hour, why board the plane?

Ran into it last night.
The employees are fine and try to help. Not enough of them and NO managers to be found.
Lord knows, you would never want to have dinner or lunch.

gets me every time. The age on it is just perfect. Neat and in a rocks glass. Plus, Booker's alc content is somewhat overpowering when I'm not drunk enough. But yeah - Jim Beam puts out some delicious product.
Even more amazing that people actually buy it.
I like the cask strength and long tail of caramel with Bookers (will usually end up with a straw or two of water in it before I am done), but I'd gladly have a Bakers as well. It's a bit odd to me that Basil Hayden seems to be the most popular of the group.
A couple others on my favorites list:
4 Roses Single Barrel
WL Weller 12 Year
Elijah Craig 12 Year
Woodford Double Oaked

Plane has mechanical probs, need to swap planes. Okay it happens.
They know that over a hundred passengers are going to miss connections. One guy on duty to rebook the whole plane and get hotel vouchers.
One guy traveling with us had his night breathing thing in the checked luggage. They sent it through for the next flight tomorrow without asking if anyone needed their bag for the night. Whole process to get his bag and rebook over three hours. Fooking incredible.
One time flying back from Europe I had a plane change in Amsterdam at Schiphol. We were there for well over an hour before catching the flight home. We got on that flight, my travel companion, she and I were split up and 100 or so Russians who had missed their connecting flight got to sit together. What we didn't know was, Lufthansa was only concerned with their luggage and no one else's. We took off without incident. Over Newfoundland the Captain casually mentions that a few bags didn't make the flight - those who had barely made the flight might not have had their bags aboard. We got to JFK and it was 2 3rds of the plane had no luggage and my Our Keys were in our luggage, thanks to Alitalia not letting us keep our keys on us and told us to check them in our luggage's and put all coins in the bags as well - (we noted that was odd but we obeyed). We had no where to go and no one to call as it was 3am arrival (before cell phone's were ever popular - with no coins - and Lufthansa wouldn't sell us any change to make a call from a pay phone - spent the rest of the morning in a coffee shop on Madison Ave - finally getting ahold of our Super for the extra set of keys.)
