Regardless of your political affiliation, it is sad to see the mental deterioration of someone play out so publically. It is even sadder to realize these people can still vote on issues critical to our nation. Cochran is not the only member of Congress who is in such a state. Not by a long shot. In many districts and states, just getting elected once essentially turns into a lifetime appointment. Time to really get serious about term limits for Congress and eliminating the lifetime tenure of Supreme Court justices.

Feinstein, Grassley, Hatch, Shelby, Inhofe, Roberts, McCain, all over 80.
In the House, Conyers and Slaughter are 88, Sam Johnson is 87
Most of those limits are 65.
So they are thought not to be capable of running a $10 billion corporation but could serve in the Senate for 20 years after forced retirement. Seems illogical.
