For me, I haven't owned too many, but my 2013 Dodge Durango R/T (Hemi) has been tremendous, but the most fun I had was with my 65 Beetle.
Acura people. 2017 RDX and 2015 TLX. The 2015 TLX is best car I have ever owned. Black Copper Metalic with dark leather interior....very fast yet great gas mileage
THey are very reliable, and hold their value
We have had terrible luck with VW products including 2010 VW Passat wagon that was a total lemon and VW were pricks about it
Also 1997 Audi A4 that was a similar lemon
Read Consumer Reports on VWs and Audis....they have a terrible reputation as do BMWs.
Most reliable is definitely been my 2010 Lexus ES. Had a lot of fun back in the day in my '78 Chevy Nova.
I see no reason to upgrade.

I owned 4 Infinitis from 2001 to 2015, either the G35s or the G37s. The 2009 G37S coupe was my favorite. I wanted to keep that car forever and would probably still have it if I hadn't totalled it in 2012. What a great car. Infiniti is an under appreciated brand.
It's got a lot of everything, and the drive train warranty is 200,000 miles.
Absolute bitch on rear tires. But it has been nothing short of pure joy to drive. 451 hp, and 431 of torque and sounds like the devil gargling Old Grand Dad.
But like you say, it's plain exterior hides a beast of an engine. I'd love to own one some day. Mercedes is dressing up some of the new models. The 2019 looks dirty.
My dream car still remains the Mercedes AMG GT. If only Mercedes could figure out a way to cut the price in half (or more)....

Rest my case, tell# 18 I said wassup
I like to drive fast, but i dont want a race car...
Classic, classic, classic lines. A real beauty.
Probably the biggest piece of shit was a '80 Chevy Cavalier.
Best car, in terms of maintenance and reliability, was a 2000 Subaru Forester. Put 200K miles on that bad boy and it was so solid.
Most fun, easily my 2010 Mini Cooper S. So damn quick, just a thrill to drive.
Currently drive Ford Fusion Hybrid. Boring as hell, but very reliable, nice smooth ride and I get 40 mpg with every tank.
Dream car is a '68 - '69 Camaro.
My daughter gets her driver's license next year so she's starting to look for a car. I want her to get a Mini Cooper (so I can drive it) but I can't convince her.
Mountain grey.
Red caliber brakes.
19" black matte rims
Dark tinted windows all around
355 hp.
0-60 in 4.2 seconds
Looks sexy. Drives great. A terrific car at a reasonable price. Love it.

I will NEVER drive a BMW. It's the douchebags ride of choice.
and I agree...a lot of douchebags own BMWs.

I went with an Infinity G35, which was a cross between the luxury of the Lexus and the sportiness of the BMW.
Once I get 200,000 miles on it, I'll start looking for something else.

Seriously, though...the Volt has amazing technology, it's sporty, it has an amazing sound system, it's quiet, and it has a built in wifi hot spot (kind of a dumb feature considering today's cell phone technology). If you do a lot of local travel like me, it's the optimal car other than maybe a Tesla. I get 120 MPG, so having a car like this and getting solar a few years back, I feel I've done my part in reducing my carbon foot print.

Both an A4 and a Passat...both were lemons and we will never go near a VW family product again
In both cases VW failed to live out to the pieces of shit they sold us
Everyone I know that has had a Passat has had problems....transmission, electrical and burning oil
Other than that...great cars
Best car was the first year Genesis, Hyundai had no idea what they had. Wife has a 2017 Genesis now and it is great just twice as much as the one we got in 2009. I just got a new Nissan Titan Platinum a few weeks ago, not a great rated truck but the best deal I ever got...so I have to factor that in. 25k off MSRP and can tow the boat and new RV
Their cars are selling at 70-75 cents on the dollar.....yet they used to be very good cars
We had two Maximas that were outstanding......smooth as silk transmissions, comfortable, handled well, fast

I had a 1990 Porsche 944 Cabriolet that was the most fun. My favorite was a Jeep Cherokee. I loved that car.

1964 Austin Healey 3000. Bought it new and still have it. Great fun.

It had a V-8 Corvette engine, T-Tops, and a 6-speed manual transmission. I was under 25, so my insurance on that was an absurd $225 per month, and worth every penny.
He had no idea how to drive a stick and was an asshole
Yes, a guy owning one who cannot drive stick is an asshole.
WalMart money, my rent was cheap so fuck it
I know many people had problems with the Volkswagens. I never did. I loved that little car.
