Now, while held in safe facilities, they are fed.clothed, bathed, medically attended to and sleep indoors.
It is an uncomfortable situation to be sure.
But to suggest the conditions are "inhumane" is a fabrication.
These kids are pawns.
Used by the adults to expedite admittance.
By the libs to wail against Trump and fast flow cheap voters.
And by Trump to force the moment to its crisis.
Where is the outrage against the cause of this migration?
...which is now being further encouraged. The human trafficking side of this is not a small %, it is most of it.

So what is your point?

Or, more accurately, next time you get a speeding ticket, the cops can take them out of your car and send them wherever for however long they want.
That will deter the national speeding crisis!

"Hotshot'?
You are embracing hysteria.
Get ahold of yourself.
Have a nice sandwich for lunch and calm down.
Meebe, just meebe if we had worked to improve conditions there they wouldn’t be coming en masse.

Right around the time we solve poverty and crime?
Should we accept everyone who comes from a poor or dangerous country?
Ah, this takes me back...
They even have a brigade named after the last US general who operated in Mexico.

What must be going on in those countries that is motivating thousands of people suddenly in the past five to ten years to get up with their little kids even and walk across the entirety of Mexico, leaving behind everything they have known? That’s not for the lazy welfare queens, or the faint of heart.
If there is a gang/security issue there, doesn’t it make sense to try to solve it there, so they stay there? Again, I know this awful Obamaian sounding, but isn’t it just simple common sense to stop the problem there? Sorta like spending billions to fight ISIS there, so we don’t here?
Haven't we proven by now that you can't just force democracy/liberty onto a society (i.e. nation building)?
I empathize with the people and think we need to let more of those who are coming to work and build a new life in while also keeping the bad ones out. This is why we do need strong border security and strong penalties for violation of immigration laws. But that's a whole different topic than trying to fix someone else's problems for them, which history has shown hardly ever works. Change has to come from within. We can put external pressure on their governments, but aside from that I am not sure what can be done.
I’m talking about helping them fight gangs and cartels, something we are supposed to know something about. Give them technical and logistical support. We spend billions to do more against ISIS.
Or you can just keep whining and and doing a circle jerk about what is really an impossibility, stopping a mass migration of determined people. You do know that the forces that are driving them out are much stronger than any deterrence that Orange can offer.
It's whack-a-mole, 90% of the cocaine produced in Columbia, Peru and Bolivia is consumed in the US and much of it is coming through the porous southern border with Mexico. Nature abhors a vacuum, so take out one gang and another pops up. Securing the southern border and keeping the coke out of the US market would likely have the greatest effect.
Not that expensive either.
You can always find reasons to do nothing.
There will always be drugs and Cartels. These people lived through decades of that (including Escobar and Cali) without mass migration.
But there needn’t be the complete breakdown of order and safety situation that has existed there in the last few years.
We either do something about it at the source, or what’s happening right now at the border will look like a party.
Again, it’s real simple, what is forcing them out is light years worse than ANY Trump deterrence. These people are fucking walking across Mexico, kids in tow. You know how desperate you need to be to do that?
Or Annex everything to the Panama canal, and while we're at it Canada has it coming as well...

Uhm, how about with security training and assistance against gangs? Something they have been asking for?
You are dense.
Only one edit on that? You shouldn't have deleted "magnificent."
The audio on this clip should bother all of us. And the reverend they are talking to here is no lefty.
This is a continuing outrage, and it could stop with one Trump phone call.

There was a case in 1997 that mandated this stuff, later expanded in 2015 by a judge in Los Angeles, then again in 2016 by the Ninth Circuit.
An act of Congress is required to change it (unless the court's basis was the Constitution, in which case a Constitutional Amendment would be required). Or, you could just lobby publicly for Trump to ignore the law and court orders...something I thought you guys used to be afraid of.
It's not as simple as you make it out to be.
Enter through a port of entry.
Have some documentation .
Be patient.
They know Trump will offer amnesty in exchange for border security.
They expect to be detained.
They expect to be separated.
These people are not stupid.
Everybody is doing what they have to do to make their case.
It will all work out.

apologize for not sending them more. Being humanitarian is one thing, being the worlds patsy is another. Big O is gone, get over it
Simplistic solutions are for simpletons like yer lord and master in DC.
The Euros did something similar in the wake of the Syrian migration. Got together with Turkey to finance some safe havens there , rather than the continued columns of migrants.
You really think it will be more expensive to finance and help with some gang interdiction and security than what we are dealing with here? I know that any solution that isn’t a wall smacks of Obamaism to folks like you, but practicality should govern.
I feel bad for these kids.
I have given money, clothing and time to Holy Family Institute.
I understand the politics.
I dismiss the hysterical positions on both sides.
I don't call people names because they disagree with me.
I do what I can do.
Everybody should.
Hopefully most posters here do.

You are also correct about not demonizing folks on the other side. I know conservatives who agree with Trump who also do a lot on the human side personally to help with the problem.
CYS is complaining that they can't get kids into Holy Family.
These are at-risk kids living in abusive family conditions.
They are US Citizens.
It's not simple at all.
