The contact was to the back shoulder, totally benign, momentary, and only to position the child by all accounts. A move that had previously been done without thought a hundred times, and I guarantee that you have done this yourself, the child didn’t want to be there and had a parent who would overreact to the complaint. The school had a new principle who went on to become legendary in her bad decision making, and she decided to make a big deal out of it.
