I told my wife I want a bottle of bourbon, and so of course she asked "what kind?" I don't drink much. What kind should I put on my Christmas list?
PS Two years ago we went on a part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail -- visited Jim Beam, Maker's Mark and Four Roses in a single day.. The temperature was about 98 degrees which wrecked the bourbon tasting experience for me on that particular day.

Bourbon is for UM fans.
I just had some Whistle Pig Boss Hog Black Prince.
Best rye I ever had.
Compares favorably with high end Bourbons.

Aged in Cognac barrels. Called Brenne. Very smooth and incredible. I had the 10 year. Enjoy.

Mighty fine whiskey. Cheers. The other one I tried and really liked was Yellow Spot. Have you tried that?
BTW, if you are buying Japanese beer in the States, you have to check the label. Chances are it is made in the US or Canada at an Anheuser Busch or Molsen brewery (the latter being a very sneaky way to say that "Japanese" beer is "Imported"...less prominently you will see that it is imported from Canada, not Japan). For whatever reason, the US brewed "Japanese" beers are more like Bud Light to me than they are like the Japanese originals.

Pappy, Blantons, Weller - all better but difficult to find and expensive.
Other recommendations on here are not bad, just not my cup of tea.
They like to add the "e," unlike the Scots, for some reason.

Get some Four Roses Single Barrel.
I recuse myself because I’m drinking some of the finest small batch bourbon anywhere. McLaughlin’s Baby Barrel.
Assuming she can't find Weller 12 year.
Another suggestion would be Woodford Double Oaked, but I'd go with 4RSB first.

But, I rarely drink bourbon straight anymore, so that bottle is lasting a lot longer.
