The President of the United States lied over 7,500 times in the first 700 days of his presidency.
Let that sink in.
Further, you provide no link for your ridiculous assertion.
You see, Rooney's actual topic was that Trump lied 7500 times. He just used a set-up in the subject line for the main topic. It wasn't a thread about some MSM gaffe where he decided to change the topic to Trump using whataboutism.
Also, it's not whataboutism because the comparison is specifically relevant. Trump accuses the MSM of spreading fake news (and being enemy of the people), and so the fact that he lied 7500 times goes directly to the credibility of his claim.
That's quite a bit different than discussing Trump's shady finances, and bringing up Hillary's shady finances as a defense. One does not affect the other. The fact that Hillary had shady finances does not make it more or less likely that Trump did. However, the fact that Trump lies makes it less likely that his claims of MSM fake news are credible.
Logic is fun. Give it a run sometime.
of spreading fake news.” He didn’t though mention Trump making the accusation, or lying about that allegation.
So yeah, it is what aboutism.
Logic is fun.
Is there really any question about who popularized that meme?
Lots of people complained that the media was biased before. That's not new. But the notion that the MSM (whoever they are) actually spread "fake news" is a Trump special. He gets caught lying by the media, and then tells his base that it is fake news. "Fake news", "enemy of the people". That's not Reagan or the Bush's complaining about media bias. That's Trump.
him.
People have complained about media bias since the beginning of time.
The term "fake news" as an everyday term was popularized by Donald Trump to discredit any news negative to Donald Trump. To be clear, it started when people realized how many absolutely 100% fake stories were being sent out by rogue sites and bots. It still wasn't an everyday term. Trump co-opted it to describe stories negative to himself.

Orange and lots of other righties jumped on it then. He may have “popularized it” but certainly didn’t invent the term and was far from the only one using it. In fact he post specifically mentions others complaining about it, not Trump.
But whatevs.

complains that the MSM spreads fake news, remember Orange’s 7K plus lies?
It has nothing to do with Orange’s credibility on the fake news issue. It’s comparing the MSM lies to Trumps lies.
The only reason anyone thinks that is because Trump's been gaslighting it.
Find me one politician accusing the MSM of spreading "fake news" before Trump's ascendancy.
Logic is fun.
Whataboutism is excusing bad behavior by pointing to another's bad behavior. Rooney didn't say, "the next time the MSM spreads fake news, remember that Trump did it". He said "the next time someone complains about the MSM spreading fake news, remember that Trump lies." The more rational interpretation is "the next time someone complains about the MSM spreading fake news, remember that the person telling you that the MSM spreads fake news lied 7500 times in two years."
He also didn’t say “next time Trump complains about fake news, remember he has lied 7,500 times” which is how that point would be phrased if it were the main focus. Clear what aboutism.
You should stick to name-calling. You're better at that.

Did you see the question mark in my reply post?
Other than FOX TV and neoconservative spin rags, where is it the msm lies or deliberately does so?
Other than FOX TV can you support your claim?

Rooney's post, not so much.
And that fact is, the media is called out by a provocative liar as, liars and purveyors of false information. It’s like if Donny called Mother Terasa a Douche’bag everyday after she pointed out the pussy grabbing tape, his adulterous ways and so on.
