It’s just the truth. I remember when Roger Smith started Fedex. How could he compete against the USPS? Haha. How did that work out. Because if you don’t provide great service and make money you go out of business. Government doesn’t have to ever meet those thresholds. Imagine the cluster fuck with single payer healthcare. Somebody respond, besides our kick ass US military, what the government does better than private enterprise.
ATC is so bloated that we have almost no airline disasters in the US. If we privatize that, we can surely reach a figure that makes more sense, economically.
Plus, nothing ever goes wrong when we privatize things that are necessarily monopolistic, right? Unless you're proposing that we have competing air traffic control service providers. That would be sweet. 3 providers in every air market. Other than the ones that barely anybody wants to cover. In Montana, no one will want that district due to low volume, so it will now cost $10,000 for every passenger who wants to go to that godforsaken place I guess.

How they been doing lately?
Amtrak is a for-profit corporation that is heavily subsidized by the federal government. it's exactly what would be put in place if ATC were privatized, so that even undertrafficked routes would have coverage.
It is also wrong. And it is usually propagated by people who have no idea what their government does.
There are lots of services that must be provided by the public sector, since they do not generate profit. The TSA provides one of those services. Basic science is another one. Putting out fires is another.
We've been through this before, even since you started posting here.

The airlines don't car how fast you go through security. Their interest is making sure you don't take down their planes. Security checkpoints would be identical if they were privatized.
But if you want examples, I'll give you just one: National security. I win.
it is efficient or effective. I see free enterprise as the truest test of what made America great. Someone or groups of people that offered a product or service that works and is profitable or they go out of business. You just don’t get it and never will. How did our government protect us from 9/11?

function. How fast we forget.
No what changed is the Patriot Act and profiling likely terrorists. The guys in the airport are all for show. Kinda like a mall cop.

Tell me about the Patriot Act and profiling can you speak to that or do just ignore what you can’t fight.
The 9/11 attack didn’t happen cause guys smuggle guns. They knew not to cause chances are they get caught.
No me good man, it happens because the private morons were letting all sorts of shit fly that the bad guys knew they could get on the plane.
Now goo write on the board a hundred times.........

Actually, the list is endless. Of course one can certainly argue about which is more inefficient, corrupt and stupid- government morons or private industry idiots.

why the government can’t get it done anymore? I’ll give you a hint, the Empire State Building was finished in a year. Before Trump it took airports 11 years to add a new runway.

they understand what you don’t is that private companies move faster because their ROI is based on getting the project operational as soon as possible makes a big difference. Governments don’t have that imperative. But you wouldn’t know that since you have never signed the front of any check.
