According to Pew:
57% of Republicans would like to see their party become “more conservative.”
40% of Democrats would like to see their party become “more liberal.”

At least one.

that's because the rep are more liberal than they should be and the dems fill that they are more centralist than they should be. Statistics can be read both ways.

The Democrat Socialists of America are the group that fronted AOC. She came out of nowhere, and she is as legitimate as a 3 dollar bill.
Interestingly Ned, her ascent reminds me strongly of Obama's ascent. I would bet money that the DSA is the same group of people behind him and his rise as well. Obama isn't as radical as AOC, but that was a different time, and they seem to be taking an incremental approach to their radical ideas. They certainly hold the ear of the Hollywood elite, Silicon Valley, and the MSM...and that big money is calling the shots on the Left.

Orange pulled an 80K voter, three state, inside straight last time.
Chances of a repeat are pretty iffy.
Also, depends as to who turns out their core voters better.

Unfortunately, the republicans are grasping at straws like the dems. There are some really good young republicans, but they aren't good enough to win over Trump's base. I really was hoping Trump would work with the RNC to bring exposure to the next line of Republican leaders, but his ego just won't let that happen.

So if they get a Healthcare and free tuition for all candidate it’s all over, Trump wins. Unless the economy goes into the dumps. Then he loses. But if it stays stable, he gets a China deal and keeps N Korea at bay, he can grab all the pussy he wants and win.
The strange thing about Trump is how much more bad shit can damage him. It’s all out there. Unless they get a naked picture with him and Putin in bed, he wins.
I believe voters want boldness from candidates. Don't half step. Don't hedge. Take a stand on an issue.
Voters may disagree with the stance, but they respect a candidate's courage to take a position, and advocate for it, even if the polling may run counter to it.
Be a world beater. Say what you think, and defend it. It is OK if a candidate's viewpoint on an issue is not shared by others.
Voters admire moral courage, honesty, humor/humility, grace, work ethic, and the ability to welcome dissenting views.

They are dispensing with ancient tribal gridlock theologies.

There is a difference between candidates for state office vs Congress vs President.
To the extent the topic implicates questions of law, a candidate’s position has some relevance as to judicial apppointments.

the nation, not so good.
They should be looking to run a sane, reasonable alternative to Orange. I accept that that whoever that is will be to the left which is contrary to my beliefs. But it would be infinitely preferable to the current shit show. Yet they will fuck this up like they did in 2016 when the rigged the election for Hillary. Biden would have crushed this freak.
It does not mean that the boldness is irrelevant.
not someone who is going to either give this freak another 4 years which will be hard for the nation, or will get in and try to bankrupt it.
Also, the D’s showed little good judgment last time about who would win in rigging their nomination for Hillary. The corrupt story on their side from 2016 which has been forgotten due to the Orange dirty tricks is how they screwed Sanders out of the nomination.
She maybe a little off plumb all the time.
